Job Description:
The Assistant Product Manager will play a pivotal role in executing and enhancing our product vision across e-commerce and marketplace platforms. This position demands strong analytical thinking, technical understanding, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate combines curiosity for products and technology with hands-on experience, workflow design, system flows (backend to frontend), and the unique challenges of e-commerce and marketplaces. As an APM, you will actively liaise between tech, product, operations, and marketing teams to deliver seamless products and maintain alignment across organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Understanding & Ownership
- Develop deep knowledge of platform functionality, user journeys, and pain points. Contribute ideas to strengthen product effectiveness.
- Workflow Expertise
- Understand orchestrate workflow logic, and ensure smooth integration between backend and frontend systems.
- Ecommerce & Marketplace Acumen
- Apply domain knowledge to optimize features/processes for buyers, sellers, and internal stakeholders specific to e-commerce/marketplace environments.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as the go-to liaison between engineering, operations, product, and marketing. Ensure clear communication and smooth handoffs across departments.
- Proactive Execution
- Take initiative in spotting gaps, launching projects, and improving processes. Demonstrate a can-do attitude and a bias for action across all tasks.
- Requirement Analysis & Documentation
- Collect, analyze, and document business requirements. Translate functional needs into detailed product specifications and user stories.
- Prototype & MVP (Good to Have)
- Ability to conceptualize and, where possible, create wireframes/prototypes to test ideas quickly (using tools like Figma, Sketch, Miro, etc.).
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- Product Acumen
- Strong fundamental understanding of product lifecycles, feature prioritization, and usability.
- System Flow Comprehension
- Clear insights into backend-frontend interactions and technical points of integration.
- Communication & Coordination
- Excellent stakeholder management skills: able to communicate with diverse teams and synthesize viewpoints.
- Proactivity
- Self-motivated, ownership-driven, and ready to take initiative without waiting for direction.
- (ideal) Experience in Ecommerce/Marketplace
- Understanding of how ecommerce/marketplace platforms operate from both the user and business perspectives.
Education & Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Management, or equivalent experience.
- Previous internship or work experience in product, technology, or ecommerce companies is a plus.
