We have a suitable opening in the Operations – Packaging department. for the role of Assistant Manager - Packaging for the SAPMENA (South Asia, Pacific, Middle East, North Africa) zone, based in Mumbai.
As an Assistant Manager - Packaging, you will be responsible to drive the technical development of packaging and finished products, be a creative force at Definition step with consumer centric mindset, then ensuring every step of Design, Approval (homologation), Specification and Industrialization, in accordance with quality, timing, cost, and L’Oréal For The Future objectives, through close collaborations with internal and external stakeholders

Job Responsibilities
- Contributes to the perceived value of our products, be a creative force by accompanying Marketing in the transformation of consumers insights into technical solutions.
- Collects and integrates all the technical, production, economic, safety, environment impact and standardization constraints needed for the design
- Ensures risk analysis during design and implements the associated action plans.
- Suggests and approves technical packaging designs under optimal production, cost, timing, quality, sustainability and consumer centricity conditions.
- Ensures freedom to operate for chosen designs and protects innovations
- Compiles technical documents for quotation (drawings, preliminary specifications, guidelines, etc.)
- Organizes, coordinates and approves the various validation in accordance with the design quality system and disseminates technical specifications
- Controls the various stages of the packaging schedule and warns of risks and potential deviations
- Involves in and supports Innovation projects in early stage via seamless collaboration with Innovation team
- Identifies, proposes and implements ways of improving existing products (functionality, cost, perceived value, Sustainability, quality, productivity, etc.)
- Watches new technologies, innovations in related industry domains and be able to benefit from them
- Evaluates/assess and develop new external stakeholders
- Manages projects independently additionally a team player collaborating with internal and cross functional teams
- Understanding on sustainability requirements and adherence to local and international regulations
- University Degree & Qualification in Packaging.
- 3-5 years of work experience in Packaging
- D2C packaging experience will be advantage
- Hands on experience with all moulding technologies used in FMCG – IM, EBM, ISBM, IBM
- Good understanding of Packaging component drawings and Mold drawings
- Exposure to laminated and Coextruded tubes
- Well versed with Secondary packaging – Shrink sleeves, PS Labels, Hot foil transfer, unit cartons others
- Tertiary packaging mastery, evaluation of transit trials etc
- Decoration techniques – Hot Stamping, metallization, silk screen, Pad printing, off set, Flexography, Gravure etc.
- Exceptional problem solving and risk management skills
- Ability to present information clearly and train others
- Good communication skills, to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Good organizational skills to manage the documentation, materials and information
- Leadership skills and managing different teams and their expectations
