Assistant Legal Counsel

We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance professional to join our team at Milacron India. This role will play a vital part in supporting our compliance initiatives by assisting in the investigation of potential compliance breaches and regulatory issues. This role will include facilitating confidential investigations across diverse scope which includes violation of law, code of business conduct and ethics, fraud or company policies and procedures across all business areas.

This role closely collaborates with other functions such as HR, Internal Audit, Operations, Finance, Quality in conducting investigations, updating key stakeholders on the process of investigations, and tracking implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Work You’ll Do

• Oversee internal investigations into allegation of ethical violations, legal non-compliance, violation of the company’s policies and code of conduct and other related matters, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
• Evaluate reported cases and determine the criticality, facilitate the investigation in consultation with the General Counsel in accordance with the company’s policy.
• Manage and conduct investigation of reported concerns and ensure quality of investigations process and comprehensive reports along with timely closure of reported cases.
• Ensure that all cases closures are supported by adequate documentation and the necessary supporting documents are preserved and take adequate corrective preventive actions.
• Responsible for developing an annual monitoring plan with defined timelines and perform regular monitoring & review as per the plan developed.
• Assist in developing, updating and enforcing investigation related policies and procedures, remediation and training programs.
• Facilitate a culture of open communication where employees feel encouraged to raise concerns and promote speak up culture and raise awareness of the compliance, company’s policies and procedures.

The position will be part of Milacron’s Legal and Compliance team and will be based out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Law (LL.B) from a reputed law college in India.
• 6-9 years of post-qualification experience in a reputed law firm and/or in-house legal department of a multinational corporation.
• Expertise in leading complex investigations, with strong analytical, interviewing and report writing skills with adequate understanding of applicable legal framework.
• Exceptional ability to manage multiple investigations and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
