Position Summary

Position Summary and Location

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Apprentice Trainee – Technical Writer to join our Application Development team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in technical writing while gaining hands-on experience in documenting software applications, user manuals, and process workflows.

As a trainee, you will work closely with developers, business analysts, product managers, and end-users to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation that enhances the understanding of our applications and processes.

Functions

• Assist in creating and maintaining user manuals, help guides, FAQs, and technical documentation for software applications.
• Work closely with developers and business analysts to understand application features and translate technical details into user-friendly documentation.
• Develop process flow diagrams, instructional guides, and system documentation.
• Ensure documentation is well-structured, consistent, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Help in preparing training materials, release notes, and API documentation.
• Edit and proofread technical content for clarity, accuracy, and completeness.
• Organize and maintain a centralized repository for all documentation.
• Stay updated on new documentation tools, trends, and best practices in technical writing.

• Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
  
  

Other

• Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
• Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
• Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Required Skills

• Recent graduate/post-graduate or final-year student in BE / BTech / ME / MTech / MSc / MCA / MCM / MS
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into simple, user-friendly documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize information effectively.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
  
  

Preferred Skills (Good To Have)

• Familiarity with technical writing tools such as MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, or Confluence.
• Basic understanding of software development processes and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Exposure to markup languages like Markdown or XML.

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

• Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
• Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace
