What you will do on a typical day:
  • Effective Communication - Ability to communicate salient points effectively (in writing and verbally) to different audiences within the organization from staff to Senior leadership.
  • Systems Overview – Ability to understand and mobilize the various systems that impact the larger business and to drive the communication of new toolsets to further educate and operations on the tools available to them. Includes ERP’s, HFM(Hyperion), Blackline.
  • Deadline Adherence- Stick with month end deadlines and update to stakeholders.
  • Integrity - Support Business Partners with new projects or improvements to be implemented. Keeping abreast of latest standards and ensuring alignment to the governance, SOX controls and accounting standards are adhered to. Proficiency in the accounting standards and liaison with the Finops IFRS team when necessary.
  • Problem Solving - Able to think about Consolidation and Reporting issues/problems in an objective and critical way, Analyze and evaluate the data to reach conclusion.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparation of ERP journals, specifically month end entries. (Accrual, Allocation, and Reclass)
  • Preparation of HFM journals and maintain the HFM journal register. (Elimination/Cash flow)
  • Ensuring accurate elimination of inter-company transactions and balances.
  • Review of the inter-company entities balances and used for preparation of journals for mismatch/outages
  • Consolidated high level results checks & preparation of reconciliation of ERP to HFM during month end submission.
  • Preparation of accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations in line with requirements for accounts under your control and ensuring timeous clearance of reconciling and aged items.
  • Preparation of post month end feedback with various stakeholders.
  • Report and escalate to Controllers as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the BU owners and all stakeholders.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the partner teams.


What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’ degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Finance & Accounting, Finance Consolidations and reporting domain, 1-2+ years of experience in HFM(Hyperion)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel(Smartview) and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding on process and operational procedures of AP/AR - OTC, P2P functions.
  • Should have knowledge about end-to-end accounting.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to drive meetings and present reports to stakeholders.
  • Takes calculated risks, makes strategic, results-oriented decisions, and accepts responsibility for the results (positive or negative).
