We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer proficient in CATIA V5/V6 for creating 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D CAD models. The candidate will be responsible for generating detailed engineering drawings compliant with industry standards and incorporating Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 2D drawings from 3D CAD models using CATIA V5/V6 in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Apply and interpret GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or ISO 1101) to ensure accurate and functional design intent.
  • Ensure drawings meet all manufacturing, assembly, and inspection requirements.
  • Perform 3D to 2D extraction, dimensioning, and annotation of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Work closely with Team Leade to maintain the quality of dwg file.
  • Maintain proper drawing version control and documentation per PLM standards (e.g., ENOVIA, Teamcenter, or Windchill).
  • Review and validate existing drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GD&T and design intent.
  • Support design reviews and provide input for drawing improvements and standardization.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Automotive Engineering or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in CATIA V5/V6 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5 or ISO 1101).
  • Experience in 3D-to-2D conversion, section views, tolerancing, and BOM generation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, casting, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems (ENOVIA, Teamcenter, etc.).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy and quality.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in aerospace or automotive component design.
  • Knowledge of drawing release processes and engineering change management.
  • Certification or formal training in GD&T or CATIA V5 Drafting.

Desired Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to conduct business in English
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, giving high quality output
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office tools – Word; Excel; PPT
  • Team player and enthusiastic learner

Experience

  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience after graduation, in the Engineering
