We serve the primary market segment: Milacron Injection, Molding & Extrusion (MIME), which designs, manufactures, and sells injection and extrusion equipment, co-injection systems and related parts and services.

THE ROLE

The Milacron Supplier Development group, a global and progressive function within Milacron, is currently seeking strong, results-oriented candidates for the positions as a Supplier Quality Professional ranging from Specialist to Engineer.

Reporting to Global Supplier Development, this position will support, facilitate, and lead Supplier Development actions for multiple regional facilities. The role focuses on supply chain performance with responsibility for supplier quality, assessing supplier capability, verifying the quality of purchased items at the source, providing timely and accurate supplier performance metrics, facilitating continuous improvement and training of the supporting supply base. In this role you will manage the resolution of supplier quality issues at the regional facilities as well as global suppliers for specific categories.

As part of the Supplier Development organization, you will provide technical guidance in the use of quality management tools incorporating the technical disciplines found in FAI, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans and Problem Analysis. Coordinate formal supplier training to drive consistency in process, including supplier continuous improvement and development programs. Work with underperforming suppliers to improve On-time Delivery (OTD) and non-conformance rates using improvement tools like 8Ds, A3’s, etc. Review and maintain evaluations of perspective suppliers and existing supplier performance, report status of supplier performance, and proactively act when quality trends indicate such action is warranted. Serve as liaison between engineering, procurement, quality and production to assure quality and reliability from the supply base. In addition, you will help build and sustain a strategic supply base that aligns with the corporate category management team strategy.

• Have functional working knowledge of Quality Engineering principles
• Be a self-starter with a proven ability to manage supplier improvement initiatives
• Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting Milacron requirements
• Must be able to establish cross functional relationships and partnerships through your product and process knowledge
• Implement and monitor the part qualification and certification process with elected suppliers
• Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances
• Function as liaison between procurement, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues and to provide technical support
• Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
• Support leadership and maintain a high level of performance in carrying out the goals of the department and corporation
• Review targeted supplier manufacturing processes, evaluate supplier root cause corrective actions relative to those processes and confirm identified failure modes.
• Ability to travel (up to 50%) is required
  
  

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Supplier Development, Manufacturing Quality or Supplier Quality Engineering in a manufacturing environment or Comparable Work Experience
• Understanding of Print Reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
• Experience in Casting, Machining and Machined Components is preferred
• Experience in facilitating change and working with cross functional teams including engineering and manufacturing
• Experience in a high mix low volume global business is desired
• Familiarity in auditing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems
• Familiarity with US and International Industry measurement standards and tools
• Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and compliance auditing experience
• Experience in using structured problem solving to drive acute and chronic quality issues to closure
  
  

Education

• B.E/B. Tech degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in a technical or supply chain related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Shop Operations, Materials or Sourcing
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in English language (verbal and written communications).
