Sr.Engineer - Design

Job Description

Job Purpose/ Objective:

The Senior Engineer – Tool Design will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing tooling solutions using Creo for foundry and machine shop applications. The role requires strong hands-on experience in fixture and cutting tool design, coordination with the tool room, and deep understanding of casting and machining processes.

Job Description:

• Design and develop 3D tooling models using Creo as per project and manufacturing requirements.
• Prepare and interpret 2D drawings using AutoCAD for tooling, fixtures, and machining layouts.
• Develop and validate machine shop fixtures and support prove-out activities on shop floor.
• Design and develop cutting tools for machining applications.
• Coordinate closely with the Tool Room for tooling development, modification, and trials.
• Ensure smooth material ordering, vendor coordination, and supplier follow-up to achieve on-time tool delivery.
• Participate in tool trials, debugging, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support manufacturing teams during new product development and process optimization.
• Will Handle reduction in TDC (Total Delivered Cost ) Projects .

Technical Skill & Knowledge:

• Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD software – Creo.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD for detailing and documentation.
• Hands-on machine knowledge of Lathe, Milling, and VMC operations.
• Strong experience in Machine Shop Fixture Design and shop-floor implementation.
• Proven hands-on experience in Cutting Tool Design.
• Experience in Foundry Tooling Design for LPDC (Low Pressure Die Casting) and GDC (Gravity Die Casting).
• Good understanding of Casting Processes, especially Faucet / Sanitary Casting components.
• Practical exposure to tool prove-out, trials, and validation.

Qualification & Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant industry experience in tooling, foundry, or manufacturing environments.

Experience -

Essentials: Minimum 5 Years Relevant industry experience in tooling, foundry, or manufacturing environments.
