Sr. Program Manager, Disaster Relief, Amazon Community Impact
Amazon
Date: 5 hours ago
City: Bengaluru, Karnataka
Contract type: Full time
Description
Join us at the forefront of Amazon Community Impact (ACI) initiatives to address societal problems. At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people who are passionate about making meaningful impact on communities while helping shape the future of community service. Through innovative programs and strategic partnerships, we create lasting positive change in the communities where we operate and advance Amazon's commitment to global stewardship and social responsibility.
The ACI organization capitalizes on Amazon's scale and speed to build a more resilient and connected company. With over 1.5 million Amazonians across 60+ countries, we connect our people to community initiatives through volunteering to scale collective impact. Volunteering amplifies our Global Community Impact Giving priorities in disaster relief, food security, and education.
Amazon's Disaster Relief team applies the same logistics expertise that delivers packages daily to get critical aid where it's needed within hours. We operate 15 disaster relief hubs globally, stocked with emergency supplies like blankets, medical devices, and tarps. Working alongside local organizations and first responders, we leverage Amazon's core capabilities in logistics, technology, and innovation to support communities in crisis. Since 2017, we've donated and delivered more than 26 million relief items across 200+ disasters worldwide.
The Disaster Relief team is looking for a passionate and innovative Sr. Program Manager to support Amazon's Disaster Relief Program.
The ideal candidate will understand the complexities of global disaster response and how Amazon's unique capabilities ( product selection, logistics, warehousing, and technology) can be leveraged to support affected communities. To be successful in this role, you will need to monitor natural disasters year-round and respond quickly when they occur, launching activations that include corporate product donations, disaster response technology services, and logistics support. You will operate and maintain a network of globally pre-positioned relief supply hubs to enable faster response times, and create and scale playbooks that address the steps to support basic needs during disasters.
The ideal candidate will also be comfortable building channels for customers and employees to participate in relief efforts, and will thrive in an environment that requires constant adaptation as situations evolve on the ground.
The position can be based in Bangalore, IN.
