We are looking for a highly competent, technology-savvy Finance & Accounts Manager who can independently manage finance operations, compliance, reporting, budgeting, grants, and audit functions while supporting a fast-growing deep-tech organization.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
* Manage end-to-end accounting operations.
* Maintain books of accounts in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
* Handle Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Bank Reconciliation.
* Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
* Monitor cash flow and fund utilization.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
* Design and generate monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports.
* Develop management dashboards and financial summaries.
* Create advanced reports using:
* Pivot Tables
* Power Query (preferred)
* Excel/Google Sheets analytics
* Zoho Books reporting tools
* Generate customized ledgers, cost-center reports, project-wise expenditure reports, and grant utilization statements.
Budgeting & Fund Management
* Support annual budgeting and financial planning.
* Track project budgets against actual expenditures.
* Monitor grant utilization and funding compliance requirements.
* Support financial forecasting and resource planning.
Compliance & Governance
* Ensure compliance with:
* Income Tax
* TDS
* GST (where applicable)
* MCA filings
* CSR funding requirements
* Section 8 Company regulations
* Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, and statutory authorities.
* Maintain documentation for internal and external audits.
Grant & Project Accounting
* Manage government grants, research funding, and project-based accounting.
* Track project expenditures against sanctioned budgets.
* Prepare utilization certificates and financial reports for funding agencies.
Digital Finance & AI Adoption
* Effectively utilize AI tools to improve productivity, reporting, reconciliation, and financial analysis.
* Identify opportunities for automation across finance operations.
* Work comfortably with cloud-based accounting and collaboration platforms.
Requirements
Must Have
* Strong expertise in Accounting, Finance, and Compliance.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Excellent knowledge of Pivot Tables, Lookups, Data Analysis, and Financial Modelling.
* Hands-on experience with accounting software.
Preferred
* Strong experience with Zoho Books.
* Experience creating custom reports and ledgers within Zoho Books.
* Familiarity with Zoho ecosystem applications.
* Experience working with grants, government-funded projects, research institutions, universities, incubators, or Section 8 organizations.
Technology Orientation
* Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to create management reports independently and financial insights.
