JOB SUMMARY

The SOX Analyst assists with the maintenance of the company's internal control over financial reporting framework. Reporting to the Manager, SOX, the ideal candidate for this position must be a self-starter who possesses an ability to take initiative and who exhibits passion for building a strong and enduring control environment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Execute, at the direction of SOX Leadership, periodic top-down, risk-based assessments to identify and quantify evolving business and IT risks .
  • Partner with control and process owners to implement new controls and enhance existing controls to strengthen the Company’s internal control over financial reporting, providing reasonable assurance for the reliability of financial reporting and the preparation of financial statements for external purposes in accordance with GAAP.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business processes and leverage that understanding to maintain appropriate process documentation (narratives, flowcharts, etc.) .
  • Update, at the direction of SOX Leadership, the company’s risk and control matrix and internal control documentation .
  • Serve as a resource on internal control matters .
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external auditors to support both control testing and the exchange of deliverables .
  • Work with IT/Technology owners to understand risks associated with both current and planned IT applications and partner with SOX Leadership to provide IT General Control recommendations designed to mitigate those risks

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant degree desired, or equivalent education and/or related work experience required.

Work Experience

Typically 2+ years of work experience in

  • Audit and assurance services (including internal audit of a publicly traded company or
  • Prior experience testing and/or managing internal controls over financial reporting

We are looking for someone with a strong knolwedge of Control Design.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to acquire new skills and apply these in complex environments.
  • Ability to work independently with limited required direction and guidance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to peers and senior management.
  • Experience in performing multiple projects and working with varying team members.
  • Technology Knowledge – Oracle preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analysis, control design, and project management skills.
  • Experience in process re-engineering a plus
  • Solid understanding of SOX 404 and 302, SOC 1, COSO, and various risk assessment practices.
