Job Title: Senior Procurement Manager - Civil & PEB Construction

Location: Chennai (Should be comfortable with occasional travel to project sites across PAN India)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities for Civil and Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) projects. The role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, cost optimization, and ensuring timely availability of materials while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end procurement for Civil and PEB construction projects
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets
  • Source and evaluate vendors for structural steel, PEB components, civil materials, MEP items, and related services
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Manage vendor relationships and performance, ensuring quality and timely delivery
  • Coordinate with project, engineering, and site teams for material planning and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and statutory requirements
  • Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply risks to optimize cost efficiency
  • Handle purchase orders, BOQs, RFQs, and contract documentation
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within procurement

Required Skills & Competencies

Procurement Strategy, Vendor Management, Contract Negotiation, Strategic Sourcing, Cost Optimization, Supply Chain Management, BOQ Analysis, RFQ/RFP Handling, ERP Systems (SAP/Oracle), Inventory Planning, Commercial Acumen, Risk Management

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of Civil construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates, etc.)
  • Experience in PEB procurement (structural steel, roofing sheets, fabrication, etc.)
  • Familiarity with MEP procurement is an added advantage
  • Understanding of project lifecycle and site requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Supply Chain Management
  • MBA (Supply Chain / Operations) is preferred

Experience

  • 3-10 years of experience in procurement within Civil Construction and PEB projects
  • Proven experience in handling large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects

Additional Requirements

  • Hindi speaking is mandatory
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across India as required
