Security Researcher

Role Summary

Responsible for malware research, false positive analysis, test set development, and execution of EPP/ATP efficacy tests to ensure accurate assessment of product protection against real-world threats and alignment with third-party testing methodologies.

This is a Hybrid position located at our Bangalore, India development center. You will be required to be on-site 2 to 3 days per week. When you are not working on-site, you will be working from your home office. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to our Bangalore office and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

Position Details

About The Role

• Analyze prevalent malware samples and validate malicious behaviour and detection effectiveness.
• Investigate false positives and detection gaps, providing root-cause analysis and recommendations.
• Own EPP/ATP efficacy test planning, execution, maintenance, and reporting. Develop attack simulations, curate behaviorally active malware test sets, and expand test coverage.
• Align testing with third-party methodologies and collaborate with Engineering, Research and Data teams to improve detection quality.
  
  

About Me

• We are looking for 2 to 3 years strong expertise in malware analysis, threat intelligence and endpoint security technologies, including EPP, EDR, XDR, and ATP.
• I am experienced with VirusTotal, Hybrid Analysis, ANY.RUN, Joe Sandbox, CyberChef, MITRE ATT&CK, Procmon, Process Explorer, Wireshark, Sysmon and Windows Event Analysis.
• I use threat intelligence sources, reputation systems, Python, and PowerShell to investigate threats, automate analysis, and improve efficiency.
• I have strong analytical, troubleshooting, and reporting skills, with experience supporting third-party efficacy testing such as AV-Comparatives, AV-TEST, SE Labs and MRG Effitas.
• I have knowledge of malware reverse engineering and attack simulation techniques and use AI/LLM tools to accelerate threat analysis and efficacy investigations.
