Quality Assurance/Quality Control Subject Matter Expert – Data Center Construction
Provide expert oversight of quality assurance and quality control protocols for mission-critical data center construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement comprehensive QA/QC plans, inspection schedules, and testing procedures specific to data center infrastructure including electrical systems, mechanical/HVAC, fire protection, and specialty systems.
Conduct technical reviews of submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications to verify conformance with project specifications and data center design standards (Uptime Institute, TIA-942).
Perform field inspections and audits of construction activities, workmanship quality, and installation methods, documenting findings and non-conformances through detailed reports and corrective action tracking.
Collaborate with project management, design teams, contractors, and commissioning agents to resolve quality issues and ensure seamless integration of building systems.
Lead pre-installation meetings, quality control reviews, and lessons-learned sessions to drive continuous improvement and prevent defect recurrence.
Verify calibration and testing of critical systems including UPS, generators, cooling systems, and monitoring equipment to ensure operational readiness.
Maintain comprehensive quality documentation including inspection records, test results, punch lists, and as-built verification for client handover and warranty compliance.
Provide technical training and mentorship to project teams on data center quality standards, best practices, and emerging construction technologies.
Minimum 15 years of experience in QA/QC for commercial or industrial construction with at least 3-5 years specializing in data center or mission-critical facilities.
