PRINCIPAL MECHANICAL ENGINEER – WCP (Well Completion Products)

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Senior Mechanical Principal Engineer with 15+ years of experience leading design, development, and optimization of Well Completion Products (WCP) in the oil & gas industry. Recognized technical authority with deep expertise in mechanical product design, failure analysis, advanced engineering calculations, and compliance with API/ISO standards. Proven track record of driving innovation, resolving complex technical challenges, mentoring engineering teams, and delivering safe, reliable, and commercially viable completion solutions across global product lines.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Principal Mechanical Engineer – WCP

  • Serve as technical authority for mechanical design, development, and optimization of Well Completion Products, ensuring compliance with API, ISO, and customer specifications.
  • Lead complex product development and technology advancement initiatives, from concept through qualification and field deployment.
  • Provide expert engineering judgment to resolve highly complex technical issues, including structural integrity, seal performance, pressure containment, and downhole reliability.
  • Drive design improvements and cost optimization through root cause failure analysis, reliability studies, and component redesign.
  • Conduct advanced engineering calculations, simulations, and FEA to validate product performance under extreme downhole conditions.
  • Anticipate potential failure modes, recommend design mitigations, and implement robust engineering solutions based on field and manufacturing feedback.
  • Lead feasibility studies, technical risk assessments, and cost‑benefit analyses for new and upgraded WCP technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, and HSE to ensure safe, manufacturable, and scalable product designs.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, design guidelines, and best practices across the WCP portfolio.
  • Provide direct mentorship and technical guidance to junior and senior engineers, building strong technical capability and succession readiness.
  • Maintain complete engineering documentation, including drawings, calculations, test results, qualification reports, and change records aligned with Weatherford PDP.
  • Support customer and field troubleshooting activities, acting as subject matter expert for critical completion tool applications.

SAFETY, QUALITY & COMPLIANCE

  • Champion Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSE) excellence, embedding safety-by-design principles into all WCP products.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Weatherford Management System, corporate governance, and regulatory standards.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION

  • Demonstrated ethical leadership and adherence to Weatherford standards and Rules to Live By.
  • Trusted technical advisor to engineering leadership, product management, and operations teams.
  • Effective communicator with global, cross‑functional stakeholders and external partners.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Master’s Degree / PhD – Preferred

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, product design, and technical leadership
  • Extensive experience in oil & gas, specifically Well Completion Products

TECHNICAL TOOLS & SYSTEMS

  • CAD & Engineering Software (Creo / SolidWorks / NX or equivalent)
  • FEA & Simulation Tools
  • Engineering Calculations & Design Automation Tools

ADDITIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
