Detailed Description: Job Posting: Functional Safety Hardware Reliability Engineer Location: Visteon India (Bangalore/Pune, Chennai/Cob/Goa)

Position Overview: We are seeking a Functional Safety Hardware Reliability Engineer to join our team at Visteon India. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and functional safety of our hardware components in automotive systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute hardware reliability test plans in compliance with ISO 26262 and other relevant safety standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA) for hardware components.
  • Perform testing on hardware systems to evaluate functional safety and reliability under various conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, vibration).
  • Analyze test results and generate comprehensive reports to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure safety requirements are integrated into the hardware design process.
  • Participate in safety audits, reviews, and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in hardware reliability testing methodologies and processes.
  • Contribute to the development of safety documentation, including safety plans and verification reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in hardware reliability engineering and functional safety within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive safety standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE).
  • Experience with reliability testing techniques and methodologies (e.g., HALT, HASS).
  • Familiarity with failure analysis and fault tolerance concepts.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Excel).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with circuit design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Knowledge of thermal and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
