Position Overview
The Fibre Splicer will be responsible for installing, splicing, testing, and maintaining fibre optic cables to ensure high-quality connectivity for telecom and data networks. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fibre splicing: Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fibre optic cables.
Cable installation: Lay, terminate, and manage fibre optic cables in underground, aerial, and inside plant environments.
Testing & troubleshooting: Use OTDR, power meters, and other tools to test fibre integrity and diagnose faults.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of splicing activities, test results, and cable routes.
Safety compliance: Follow industry standards and safety protocols during installation and maintenance.
Collaboration: Work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to deliver projects on time.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical knowledge of fibre optic theory, splicing techniques, and cable management.
Hands-on experience with OTDR, fusion splicers, and related fibre optic tools.
Problem-solving ability to quickly identify and resolve fibre issues.
Attention to detail for precise splicing and testing.
Physical fitness to work in field conditions (outdoors, confined spaces, heights).
Communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients.
Qualifications
Diploma/ITI/Certification in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field.
Minimum 2–5 Years Of Fibre Splicing Experience Preferred.
Valid driver’s license (for field mobility).
