Mixed Methods Researcher

About the Role

We're looking for a Mixed Methods UX Researcher who has shaped products from the ground up — someone who's navigated the ambiguity of 0→1 projects and driven end-to-end research that directly influenced product direction. You bring both qualitative depth and quantitative rigour, and you thrive in complex, fast-moving product spaces.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end UX Research — from prioritising and planning to executing and translating findings into insights — across both strategic, high-level topics and tactical usability testing.
• Drive research on 0→1 product initiatives, helping define what to build before a single design is made, as well as iterating on existing experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define research objectives, align on project goals, and deliver actionable insights.
• Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research design and execution.
• Analyse and synthesise complex research data to identify patterns, trends, user pain points, and opportunities using both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
• Translate research findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights and recommendations that drive product decisions.
• Create compelling research deliverables — user personas, journey maps, affinity diagrams, and research reports — to communicate insights to diverse audiences.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels, advocating for user-centred actions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of UX research practices, exploring new methodologies and tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of dedicated, applied experience in User Experience Research, conducting research for digital products within a professional setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Information Science, Design, or a closely related field.
• A strong portfolio or case studies showcasing your research process, methodologies used, and the direct impact of your insights on product or design outcomes — especially on 0→1 or end-to-end projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in HCI, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience working across various stakeholders and teams in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Proven experience applying the right research method at each phase — from discovery and concept testing to usability and post-launch evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly in technical, complex product spaces and navigate ambiguity with confidence.
• Excellent collaboration, facilitation, and communication skills.

Note: Design portfolios are not required. Research case studies and process documentation are strongly preferred.
