Duties Include
- Dealing with patients via telephone and face-to-face at reception
- Booking patients’ appointments
- Communicating with GPs and nurse
- Taking payments
- Processing claim forms
- Maintaining patient files
- Experience as Medical Secretary highly desirable
- Essential typing skills
- Competent computer user, ideally with experience in GP practice software.
- Excellent telephone manner with ability to communicate in a compassionate and calm manner
- Personable and courteous in all interactions with patients and medical staff
- Ability to take direction and work on own initiative in a pressured work environment
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise a demanding diary
- High level of professionalism and ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality to all aspects of the practice
- Flexibility with respect to working hours
- Ability to provide cross-cover for annual leave
