Job Requirements

To lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of watch dials and hands from both domestic and international suppliers for the Watches & Wearables Division, ensuring uninterrupted material availability, competitive cost, superior quality, and on-time delivery. The role is responsible for supporting new product development, driving supplier capability enhancement, developing alternate sourcing strategies, mitigating supply chain risks, and building strategic supplier partnerships to achieve business objectives in cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for watch dials and hands.
  • Identify, evaluate, develop, and onboard new domestic and international suppliers.
  • Drive supplier localization and alternate source development.
  • Benchmark supplier capabilities, technologies, and market trends.

Procurement Planning & Execution

  • Ensure timely procurement to support production and NPD requirements.
  • Monitor supplier schedules and delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Production, Stores, and Logistics.
  • Manage procurement planning based on demand forecasts.

Supplier Development & Performance Management

  • Develop strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Responsiveness, Innovation).
  • Support supplier capacity enhancement and process improvements.
  • Facilitate supplier audits with Quality teams.

Cost Management

  • Lead commercial negotiations and annual price settlements & Agreements.
  • Analyze cost structures
  • Track commodity trends (brass, aluminium, copper, silver, gold, lacquers, inks, plating chemicals) and implement the Commodity price correction.
  • Drive value engineering and cost optimization.

New Product Development (NPD) Support

  • Support supplier selection during product development.
  • Ensure timely sourcing for Samples, validation lots, and mass production.
  • Coordinate tooling development, sample approvals, and production readiness.

Stake Holders Management:

  • Quality Assurance (QA): Coordinate supplier qualification, quality approvals, supplier audits, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and resolution of supplier quality issues.
  • Stores & Warehouse: Ensure timely material receipts, inventory accuracy, discrepancy resolution, and smooth inwarding of materials to support production requirements.
  • New Product Development (NPD): Partner with the NPD team to identify suitable suppliers, develop prototypes, manage tooling, and ensure timely sourcing for new product introductions.
  • Central Planning : Align procurement plans with production schedules and demand forecasts to ensure uninterrupted material availability.

Risk Management

  • Identify supply risks and implement mitigation plans.
  • Develop alternate sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor geopolitical, logistics, and commodity risks.

Educational Qualification

  • Diploma/BE in Mechanical, Industrial




Work Experience

Experience

  • 10–15+ years in sourcing, procurement, or supplier development.
  • Experience in watch components, precision engineering, automotive or appearance parts.
  • Exposure to domestic and international supplier management.
