Job Description

Ocean Export Pricing & Booking Management

  • Develop and execute booking strategies aligned with volume, capacity, customer and profitability objectives.
  • Ensure clear visibility of bookings, carrier allocation, capacity utilization and pricing commitments.
  • Optimize carrier mix with focus on core carriers including Hapag-Lloyd, CMA CGM, MSC, COSCO and Maersk.
  • Maintain spot business within defined thresholds and drive greater utilization of core carrier contracts.
  • Monitor booking performance and proactively address capacity, rate and allocation gaps.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updation of pricing, booking and performance trackers.

Carrier & Rate Management

  • Manage commercial relationships with shipping lines and support negotiation of competitive ocean freight rates.
  • Track market movements, carrier rate changes, GRIs/PSS and other relevant pricing developments.
  • Provide regular market intelligence and pricing updates to Sales and network offices.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize carrier selection and improve overall buying efficiency.
  • Ensure pricing decisions balance competitiveness, volume growth and profitability.

Sales & Commercial Support

  • Partner with Sales, network offices and sector teams to support new business acquisition and existing account growth.
  • Develop pricing strategies for own accounts, new opportunities and special products.
  • Support sales promotions across network offices, sectors and target customer segments.
  • Provide timely and competitive quotations to improve business conversion.
  • Maintain accurate quote logs and track business wins, losses and conversion trends.

Trade Lane Development

  • Identify opportunities to develop and expand priority ocean export trade lanes.
  • Analyse market trends, customer demand, carrier capacity and competitive pricing to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop strategies for new and special products and support their commercial penetration.
  • Drive year-on-year growth across identified target trade lanes.

Volume & Profitability Management

  • Drive FCL volume growth through effective pricing, carrier strategy and commercial support.
  • Monitor contribution and EBITA performance across trade lanes, customers and carrier portfolios.
  • Identify opportunities to improve yields, reduce cost leakage and enhance profitability.
  • Work with Sales and Operations to improve conversion and profitable volume acquisition.

Performance & MIS Management

  • Maintain accurate and timely monthly pricing and performance sheets.
  • Ensure regular updates of quote logs, booking trackers, carrier allocation and market intelligence.
  • Monitor business win percentage, FCL volumes, carrier mix and profitability against targets.
  • Prepare periodic performance analysis and highlight key trends, gaps and corrective actions to management.

Branch & Product Maturity

  • Work with target branches to improve ocean export pricing capability and product maturity.
  • Provide guidance to branches on market rates, carrier strategies, trade lanes and pricing practices.
  • Drive adoption of standard pricing processes and commercial best practices across eligible branches.
  • Support branches in improving pricing discipline, customer conversion and profitable volume growth.
