Position Summary
The Manager – Logistics is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end logistics, warehousing, distribution, transportation, inventory control, regulatory compliance, and customer service operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain performance. The role is accountable for logistics strategy execution, budget management, service excellence, inventory optimization, vendor management, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Position Summary
The Manager – Logistics is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end logistics, warehousing, distribution, transportation, inventory control, regulatory compliance, and customer service operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain performance. The role is accountable for logistics strategy execution, budget management, service excellence, inventory optimization, vendor management, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include:
Logistics Strategy, Budgeting & Governance
- Manage logistics budget, cost planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Develop logistics strategies, SOPs, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Drive freight, warehousing, and network cost optimization initiatives.
- Monitor logistics costs and provide actionable insights to management.
- Oversee warehouse and depot operations across locations and 3PL partners.
- Ensure inventory accuracy, batch traceability, and FEFO/FIFO compliance.
- Maintain GMP/GDP, EHS, and hazardous material handling standards.
- Drive warehouse productivity, space utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Review and finalize dispatch plans aligned with customer demand and production schedules.
- Coordinate with Planning, Manufacturing, Sales, and Customer Service teams.
- Ensure timely dispatch execution and achievement of OTIF targets.
- Monitor shipment execution and resolve service disruptions proactively.
- Manage transporters, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
- Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service agreements.
- Optimize routing, load planning, and transportation costs.
- Monitor transporter performance and service quality.
- Ensure inventory accuracy across warehouses and depots.
- Monitor aging, excess, slow-moving, and expiry-risk inventory.
- Lead stock verification, cycle counting, and reconciliation activities.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, DG transportation, and statutory requirements.
- Manage shipment documentation, COA, MSDS, and export/import records.
- Coordinate with QA and Regulatory teams for compliant product release.
- Ensure accurate invoicing and dispatch documentation.
- Coordinate freight reconciliation, billing accuracy, and insurance coverage.
- Manage logistics-related claims, shortages, damages, and losses.
- Manage returns, rejections, and reverse logistics processes.
- Handle logistics-related customer complaints and implement CAPA actions.
- Manage logistics contracts, SLAs, and vendor relationships.
- Benchmark rates and drive cost competitiveness and service improvement.
- Track KPIs including OTIF, freight cost, inventory accuracy, transit damage, and demurrage.
- Drive ERP (SAP), WMS utilization, reporting, automation, and process improvements.
- Lead logistics, warehouse, and dispatch teams across locations.
- Define KPIs, develop team capability, and drive accountability.
- Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, QA/QC, Regulatory, Finance, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
Education
- Bachelor’s / Master’s in supply chain, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Operations, or Business
- 8–12 years in logistics, warehousing, or distribution
- Mandatory exposure to Pharma / Chemical industry
- Strong experience in regulated logistics (GMP / hazardous materials / exports)
- Experience managing multi-location warehouses and 3PLs s
