Senior Platform Engineer / Team Lead

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer / Team Lead to join the NCR Voyix Cloud Platform team. Our platform provides the foundation for cloud-based products used across the business.

Our customers are engineers who rely on our APIs, infrastructure, pipelines, observability, and automation to build and operate reliable applications. We care about availability, maintainability, security, and developer experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will guide a small team of platform, DevOps, and SRE engineers while still contributing technically. You will help set direction, mentor engineers, improve delivery practices, and partner with product teams to solve infrastructure and reliability problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering work across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and automation.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, incident follow-ups, and career development.
• Build and operate shared platform services used by multiple product teams.
• Improve deployment, release, and operational practices so teams can ship safely and often.
• Design maintainable infrastructure and tooling using automation and infrastructure as code.
• Help define standards for reliability, monitoring, security, incident response, and production readiness.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to improve delivery, automation, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational workflows.
• Participate in production support and lead incident response when needed.
• Work with engineering leaders and stakeholders to plan work, manage tradeoffs, and communicate risks clearly.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure.
• Experience mentoring or leading DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineers.
• Strong understanding of SRE and DevOps practices.
• Production experience with GCP, AWS, Azure, or another major cloud provider.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Google Cloud Build, Harness, Jenkins, Travis CI, or Spinnaker.
• Experience with observability or APM tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve software delivery, automation, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, or operations.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated output critically and use AI tools safely with attention to code quality, security, and data protection.
• Ability to design, build, and support reliable systems at high transaction volume.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and solid computer science fundamentals.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of production GCP experience.
• 1+ year of production Kubernetes experience.
• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools.
• Designed, deployed, or operated at least one agentic AI solution in production.
• Familiarity with Java, .NET, and NPM development lifecycles.
• DBA experience or practical experience supporting databases in production.
• Experience improving internal developer platforms, shared tooling, or cloud services.
• Experience leading technical planning across multiple teams.
