Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and prevent Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) such as CAUTI, CLABSI, VAP, and SSI.
• Conduct daily infection control rounds in wards, ICU, OT, OPD, and other clinical areas.
• Ensure compliance with hand hygiene, PPE usage, biomedical waste management, and isolation protocols.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain infection surveillance data and prepare reports.
• Implement infection control policies and SOPs as per NABH guidelines.
• Conduct infection control audits, inspections, and environmental surveillance.
• Coordinate with microbiology, nursing, housekeeping, CSSD, and clinical departments.
• Train and educate hospital staff on infection prevention practices and aseptic techniques.
• Monitor sterilization, disinfection, and cleaning procedures across departments.
• Investigate infection outbreaks and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain documentation related to infection control activities and committee meetings.
• Participate in NABH audits, quality initiatives, and hospital accreditation activities.

Qualification

• GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing
• Certification or training in Infection Control preferred
• Valid Nursing Registration
