We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support workshop operations related to machining, fabrication, valve and PSV repair, calibration, equipment overhauling, and maintenance activities. The role is responsible for executing workshop services, ensuring equipment reliability, maintaining safety standards, and supporting uninterrupted plant operations through effective maintenance and repair practices.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Coordination

  • Support preparation of maintenance budgets and resource planning for workshop operations.
  • Execute maintenance activities as per daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and ensure adherence to operational plans.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best maintenance practices.

Workshop Maintenance Operations

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and workshop machinery.
  • Execute machining, fabrication, and repair activities for plant and non-plant equipment.
  • Manage manufacturing, refurbishment, and repair of spare parts and critical components.
  • Identify and maintain required tools, tackles, and workshop inventory.
  • Support turnaround and shutdown maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform workshop services including:
    • Safety valve and PSV testing
    • Seal lapping and calibration
    • Rotor balancing coordination
    • Mechanical equipment overhauling
    • Hot tapping support activities
  • Coordinate machining and specialized repair work through external vendors when required.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all workshop activities comply with quality standards and approved procedures.
  • Support inspections and quality checks for workshop jobs as per Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance records, repair reports, test certificates, and workshop MIS documentation.
  • Support statutory, HSE, and compliance audits through proper documentation and record management.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and ensure adherence to workplace safety procedures.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Contribute to standardization of maintenance procedures and workshop practices.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and maintenance methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, workshop operations, manufacturing, EPC, chemical, petrochemical, fertilizer, or related industries.
  • Exposure to mechanical workshop maintenance and repair activities is preferred.
