Engineer - Data Management

What you’ll do:

"The data steward implements the product data life cycle maintenance for his/her division’s products in the ERP and PIM systems. In this role, the data steward will receive instructions from the Divisional Lead Data Steward (located in Europe) and from the Team Leader – Divisional (located in Pondicherry).

The Product Data Steward will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of Eaton’s Product master data and thereby support the implementation of the balanced scorecard for the divisions of Eaton’s Electrical Sector EMEA."

"Bid Manager + Product Master Data

• The Bid Manager – Configurations leads end‑to‑end management of configurable bids and quotations for complex products. The role bridges Sales, Engineering, Pricing, and IT to ensure that customer requirements are accurately captured in CPQ and SAP Variant Configuration (VC), pricing/rules are applied correctly, risks are mitigated, and proposals are delivered on time with high quality.
• This role owns the configuration governance for bids—covering UI configuration, VC model validation, pick rules, data extraction, access control, and orchestration across the system flow.
• Support on end-to-end process of creating, updating, and Migrating materials for businesss (SAP / Product Data Hub / Customer 360 / Enovia / Front End initiative).
• Support for Europe manufacturing location on day to day business operation support on Structuring BOM(Bill of Materials), Routing and PIR's(Purchase info records) & Cost Release.
• Collaborate with Technical team (PLM's/ Sales/Marketing) to implement required changes in ERP and PIM systems & verify product certificates and obtain approvals for item migration.
• Create and maintain accurate E-commerce data to support online sales and marketing efforts.

BID- Manager Configuration specific Responsibilities:

• Leads the full bid Man process (RFQ/RFP) by translating customer requirements into accurate CPQ and SAP VC configurations, ensuring technical and commercial correctness.
• Maintains configuration rules (VC constraints, pick rules, UI logic), validates system behavior, and ensures consistency between CPQ and SAP.
• Monitors system flow, resolves configuration errors, drives data accuracy (BOM, attributes, pricing), and supports continuous process improvement.
• Prepares and updates bid documents, configuration guidelines, assumptions, deviations, and ensures all proposals comply with internal policies, pricing rules, and customer requirements.

ERP specific Responsibilities:

• System Implementation and Maintenance: Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP ERP systems to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business objectives.
• Process Optimization: Analyze and streamline business processes to enhance efficiency and productivity using SAP solutions.
• Operational support: Provide comprehensive operational support for SAP systems, ensuring smooth and efficient functionality.
• Report Creation: Develop detailed and insightful reports on product master data and customer master data to support decision-making and strategic planning.

PIM Specific Responsibilities:

• Collect, create, and maintain accurate e-commerce data to support and enhance online sales and marketing efforts.
• Maintain item attributes, features, pictures & assets for SKU's in online platforms via PIM systems for Eaton.com to meet customer needs.
• Additionally, provide support for other customer platforms to ensure seamless integration and data consistency.
• Identify and resolve the synchronization and Data gaps issues between SAP& PIM Systems
• Data Quality Audits- Conduct regular audits to improve product data quality in the system.

Qualifications:

BE/B.Tech Electrical /Mechanical/Any Relevant Degree
1 - 3 years - Proven and solid experience working in the following ERP system : both SAP, PDH and MS Excel as an Reporting tool
