Role: Senior Product Analyst – Search
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Product Analyst/ Lead Product Analyst to join the Search Product Analytics function at eBay. In this role, you will partner closely with the Search product and engineering teams, leveraging eBay’s vast data ecosystem to uncover insights, influence the Search roadmap, and drive customer-centric innovation across our marketplace.
This role combines hands-on analytics depth and experimental design and implementation awareness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Analytics Ownership: Own analytics for a major Search product area (e.g., ranking, relevance, personalization, or query understanding). Prior search experience is preferred but not necessary.
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define clear success metrics aligned to buyer and business outcomes, develop structured hypotheses grounded in data and customer behavior

Role: Senior Product Analyst – Search
Overview

- Experimentation Design: implement, and interpret A/B tests and causal inference studies. Translate complex analytical outcomes into clear, actionable insights
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the analytics bridge between Search, Personalization, Ads, and Buyer Experience teams to ensure complete understanding of user intent and behavior.
- Analytical Craft & Execution Excellence: Deliver high-quality, scalable analyses using SQL, Python, and visualization tools. Build reusable datasets and dashboards to enable faster decision-making. Improve experimentation workflows and reporting clarity
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-7 years of experience in product analytics, or experimentation roles
- Strong command of A/B testing design, causal inference, and experimentation measurement.
- Deep expertise in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Strong foundation in statistics, and data-driven hypothesis testing.
- Proven track record of delivering insights that drive measurable product impact.
- Good communication skills — able to translate data into actionable narratives
- Experience in Search, ranking systems, personalization, or marketplace platforms
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms and large-scale data systems
- Exposure to machine learning model evaluation and relevance metrics
- Experience improving metric definitions or building reusable analytics frameworks
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (nice to have, not required)
