Job Purpose
The Consultant Neuro Physician is responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating acute and chronic disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems. This role focuses on advanced medical management, neuro-electrophysiological mapping, and emergency stroke care, providing comprehensive non-surgical neurological interventions to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Evaluation & Management: Conduct detailed neurological examinations and clinical assessments for outpatients and inpatients presenting with complex neurological symptoms

Neuro-Diagnostics: Request, perform, and interpret specialized diagnostic investigations, including:
- Electro-Diagnostic Studies: EEG, Video EEG, Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), Electromyography (EMG), and Evoked Potentials (VEP/BERA)
- Neurovascular Imaging: Interpret MRI, CT scans, and Carotid/Transcranial Dopplers

Acute & Emergency Neurological Care:
- Lead the medical management of acute neurological emergencies, particularly hyperacute ischemic stroke (including Intravenous Thrombolysis / tPA administration)
- Manage cases of status epilepticus, acute neuromuscular crises (e.g., Guillain-Barré Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis), and meningitis/encephalitis
- Chronic Disease Management: Provide long-term, evidence-based medical care for chronic conditions such as Epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders, Dementia (Alzheimer’s), Multiple Sclerosis, chronic headaches/migraines, and neuropathies
- Cross-Departmental Referrals: Work closely with Neurosurgeons (for surgical interventions), Interventional Neuroradiologists (for mechanical thrombectomy alignment), and Neuro-Intensivists in the Critical Care unit
Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
- MD / DNB in General Medicine or Pediatrics from a recognized institute
- DM / DNB in Neurology from an NMC/MCI recognized tertiary care center or university

Experience:
- Junior Consultant: 0–3 years of post-DM/DNB experience, with solid confidence in independent neuro-diagnostic reporting
- Senior Consultant: 5+ years of experience in a high-volume tertiary care hospital or teaching institute
- Licensure: Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) / Medical Council of India (MCI) or the respective State Medical Council
