Cisco Data Network Engineer

Job Requirements*

• Network technician who supports Network infrastructure for retail customers across globe having 5 to 8+ years of experience in networking
• Monitor network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, servers) using tools like SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor, Nagios, Zabbix, or PRTG Network Monitor
• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues (latency, packet loss, downtime)
• Configure alerts and notifications for system anomalies
• Analyze logs and performance metrics to identify trends and potential issues
• Ensure network uptime and service availability (24/7 monitoring in NOC environments)
• Work with IT teams to resolve incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Generate reports on network performance and incidents
• Maintain documentation of network configurations and monitoring processes
• Implement and maintain monitoring dashboards

Key Responsibilities*

• Expertise in Network Monitoring tools
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
• Familiarity with monitoring protocols (SNMP, NetFlow, ICMP)
• Experience with monitoring tools (mentioned above)
• Basic understanding of:
• Wireshark (packet analysis)
• Splunk or similar log tools
• Understanding of Linux/Windows systems
• Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash) is a plus
