We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Developer with 3–5 years of professional experience in building scalable, secure, and high-performance server-side applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Node.js and a solid understanding of backend architecture, API development, database design, and cloud-based application deployment.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams, to design, develop, and maintain robust backend services that power modern web and mobile applications. You should be passionate about writing clean, maintainable code and solving complex technical challenges while ensuring optimal application performance and reliability.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices to support web and mobile platforms.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop reusable, efficient, and secure server-side components and services.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Design and maintain database schemas, queries, and data models.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high coding standards.
• Write technical documentation for applications, APIs, and development processes.
• Work closely with DevOps teams to support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems and development practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and its ecosystem.
• Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript (ES6+) and backend development best practices.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Knowledge of API authentication mechanisms such as JWT and OAuth.
• Understanding of software design patterns and scalable application architecture.
• Experience with debugging, testing, and performance monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with message queues and caching technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
• Understanding of security standards and data protection principles.
