Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, high quality client service as part of the client engagement teams serving large and small companies in a variety of industries.
  • Develop strong working relationships while working closely with teams to understand and solve clients' complex businesses and challenges.
  • Understanding clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues
  • Developing and demonstrating an understanding of the RSM US audit approach, methodology and tools
  • Performing audit procedures and tests in accordance with the RSM audit methodology based overall audit plan, ensuring proper documentation of work performed.
  • Identifying areas of risk and accounting and auditing issues; discuss with engagement teams to solve issues that arise.
  • Researching technical accounting issues
  • Developing industry expertise
  • Preparing audit reports, and management letters
  • Exercising professional skepticism, judgment and adhere to the code of ethics while on engagements
  • Ensuring that documentation is compliant with quality standards of the firm
  • Working collaboratively as a part of the team and communicate effectively with RSM audit professionals
  • Provide supervision and development training for associates
  • Taking ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables to ensure service excellence through prompt responses to internal and external clients
  • Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating the development and execution of the audit work plan and client deliverables
  • Understanding RSM US and RSM Delivery Center's line of business service capabilities and work as a team in providing an integrated service delivery
  • Ensuring professional development through ongoing education
  • Participate in a range of projects and open to collaborate and work with multiple teams
  • Demonstrating critical thinking, problem solving, initiative and timely completion of work.
  • Provide oversight to senior associates and associates, including training and development activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Commerce
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant / ACCA / Licensed CPA
  • Non-qualified: 6+ years of relevant experience
  • CA qualified + 4 years relevant experience, ACCA/CPA qualified + 5 years relevant experience
  • Strong technical skills in accounting including GAAP and GAAS
  • Strong multi-tasking and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication (English) as the position requires frequent communications with RSM International clients and the United States based engagement teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Data Analytical skills including advanced Excel skills (Vlookups, pivot tables, and basic formulas), Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in “Life Sciences” industry
