About Business line/Function: Global Custody Corporate Actions & Income
Position Purpose: Global Custody team in BNP Paribas Securities Services are segregated into Corporate Actions, Income and Tax for operational efficiency and accuracy. Global Custody Corporate Actions & Income teams handle sourcing event announcements, calculate client eligibility, generate entitlements, process client instructions for optional and voluntary events, collection of cash/stock entitlements and process them to clients.

Global Custody Corporate Actions & Income teams handle sourcing event announcements, calculate client eligibility, generate entitlements, process client instructions for optional and voluntary events, collection of cash/stock entitlements and process them to clients.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Cross‑check received information with other data sources.
- Contact local sub‑custodians to clarify and resolve any open issues.
- Analyze corporate events to anticipate reporting or processing challenges.
- Set up CA events in the Custody system.
- Collect and relay ongoing updates related to corporate events.
- Reconcile securities with sub‑custodian client positions at each event stage.
- Verify eligible account positions with the local sub‑custodian.
- Ensure all eligible positions are instructed by the response deadline (voluntary events only).
- Consolidate client instructions for voluntary events.
- Advise the local market by sending participation instructions to the sub‑custodian (voluntary events only).
- Confirm that participation instructions are acknowledged by the sub‑custodian.
- Track event payment dates and advise clients accordingly.
- Process event payments into client accounts after cash and/or securities are recovered from the sub‑custodian.
- Execute foreign‑exchange orders according to client setups.
- Perform manual cash or securities adjustments needed to finalize the recovery process.
- Justify any cash or securities breaks to Control Teams.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and share best practices with peers and team members.
- Continuously evaluate and update documented procedures to keep them complete, accurate, and current.
- Be based in Chennai and travel as required.
- Work any shift supporting Asia, Americas, or European business hours.
- Follow established Business Continuity Planning (BCP) protocols.
- Establishing communication links with Clients to discuss daily operational & performance issues.
- To assist team manager to handle day today activities.
- Other ad-hoc duties may be required from time to time
- Good knowledge in handling corporate actions and income related events for various instrument types
- Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets strict deadlines.
- 3-6 years of relevant corporate action experience.
